Being a Human Animal: The Loving, Social Creature
These workshops explore the functions of our own mind and how we can develop beyond the limitations of the mind being its own self-referential machine. Many of the mental patterns we assume allow us to learn, develop, explore, and cope in very positive ways, but these same patterns can also lead to being overly attached, reactive, and conclusive in ways that stagnate much of our potential development.
This is also an exploration of how to exist in illusory reality in a way that is clear, harmonious, and productive within our own minds. I work with many people experiencing spiritual change that shifts their perspective, how they feel in their mind and body, and their overall processing. This course is meant to help individuals pave their own path of peace through change regardless of their spiritual background or orientation.
In this mind-training course, we’ll explore the concepts of right and wrong, good and bad, and harmful and beneficial from the perspective of what we are on a gross level, and why so many religious doctrines hold similar guidelines for action and behavior. Where this has translated to various kinds of social control in many different contexts, there is truth at the root of it. Loving, social behavior makes us as human beings happy and acts as direct fuel on the spiritual path, bringing us closer to our human nature and our true nature.
Everyone is welcome to attend workshops individually or as a full series. Sessions will be recorded for those unable to attend live. Tuition is $75 per class or $800 for all 12.
